Memo: March 21, 2020

The Redgranite Village Board met for a special meeting on Wednesday March 18, 2020. The purpose of this meeting was to discuss a solution to assist the truck drivers that are having a difficult time with finding places to eat during this COVID-19 pandemic. We have spent the past few days communicating with our Village restaurants/food providers, setting up the roadside welcome signs, placing a garbage can and picnic tables in this area, and typing up the communication for publication by Saturday March 21, 2020.

The Village Board would like to thank the participating Village restaurants/food suppliers and our Village employees that helped to make this happen.
The trucking industry plays an important role in our battle against COVID-19. The drivers are delivering necessary food, medical supplies and other consumer goods to our entire nation.

The press has been making reports that it is becoming harder for truck drivers to find places to eat. With the state mandate in place, restaurant dining rooms have been closed to the public, and semi-trucks are too large to fit through most of the drive-thru lanes.

If you are a trucker and are looking for a place to eat, Redgranite, Wisconsin WELCOMES YOU!!

In the center of town, located between Main and Division Streets, the Village of Redgranite has placed a Welcome sign adjacent to a parking lot for the semi-trucks to park. We have provided you with a garbage can and picnic tables.  Most of these restaurants are within walking distance of this parking location, and some of these restaurants are willing to deliver it to you! (Just ask when placing your order)

On the West side of town, Kwik Trip can supply you with your diesel fuel needs, as well as additional food and drink options. On the East side of town, our Shell Station offers a Subway restaurant and additional food and drink options.

In our nation's time of need, you are our heroes! We appreciate what you do for this Country and our Community!

In the interest of the health and welfare of our Village Clerk’s office staff, we have made the difficult decision to no longer allow Public Access to the Clerk’s office. These restrictions are being put into place to minimize disease transmission, specifically the spread of viral respiratory infections including COVID-19. Our goal is to protect our employees and those they are privileged to serve by limiting possible exposure.

Our Clerk’s office will remain staffed, it will just be closed to public access. Your utility payments should be placed in the drop box located on the front (north) side of the building. Please make these payments via check or money order only. (The drive-thru of a bank or U.S. Postal Service will be able to assist you with the purchase of a money order, if needed).

If you have general questions for the Clerk’s office, please call 920-566-2381 during the normal business hours of 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Outside of these hours, please leave a message on the answering machine and they will respond to your requests as soon as possible. Click Here More Info
