REDGRANITE VILLAGE BOARD MEETING - April 20, 2010
The meeting of Redgranite village board was held on April 20, 2010 at the municipal building at 7:00 p.m. Members present: Paul Mertz, Craig Adamson, Sandra Lyles, Richard Piechowski, Betty Eannelli, Angie Ralls and Jerry Sieg. Also present: Madonna Berube, Village Clerk-treasurer.
PUBLIC FORUM - Tom Savka addressed the Board regarding property at 420 Thackery, which is adjacent to property he owns and has large quantities of junk and the dogs are tied but are able to come onto Tom's property. He had previously reported this and the police department is looking into the situation.
REPORTS: There will be a community blood drive at the municipal building on May 10 from 3 to 6 p.m. The Board of Review will be held on May 25 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funds available for loans from the Community Development Block Grant are $48,502.96. The Department of Revenue will now be assessing each TIF district an annual fee of $150.00 and an update on Charter 2010 rate changes was given. The clerk was asked to bring back for discussion at the next meeting to the Board the agreement Charter Cable has with the Village so it can be reviewed. Sieg and Eannelli had attended the annual meeting of the Community Relations Board at Redgranite Correctional Institution and reported on some of the topics discussed.
Committee assignments presented and approved are: Finance/Personnel/Insurance - Angie Ralls and Betty Eannelli; Streets & Sidewalk - Angie Ralls and Craig Adamson; Police and Fire - Betty Eannelli and Richard Piechowski; Sewer/Water - Richard Piechowski and Sandra Lyles; Municipal Buildings - Craig Adamson and Paul Mertz; Parks/Cemetery - Sandra Lyles and Paul Mertz; Machinery/Solid Waste/Ordinances - Paul Mertz and Sandra Lyles. Appointments of members to Plan commission are Sally Leavitt and Darwin Wiese.
FINANCE/PERSONNEL/INSURANCE - Approved depositories of funds at Anchor Bank, Farmers Exchange Bank, Farmer & Merchants Bank, Farmers State Bank, Associated Bank of Green Bay and Local Government Investment Pool. Authorized same persons to sign checks: Madonna Berube, Jerry Sieg, Angie Ralls and Shiela Traister. Legal counsels and audit firm approved are: Davis & Kuelthau, Mark Bickford and audit by Baker & Tilly (formerly Virchow Krause). Audit financial statements for TIF #1 and TIF#2 were approved. Approved "Property Look Up" service from Associated Appraisal Consultants, Inc. at cost of $11.31 per month. This service to property owners helps property owners to have immediate access to data such as pictures of properties, assessments etc.
STREETS/SIDEWALKS - Annual brush pick up will be May 4, an ad will be published in the Argus giving more detailed information. Annual clean-up will be done on May 11. Approved street sweeping to be done by the City of Wautoma. Authorized purchase of some new street name signs that meets the new requirements, costing $465.00. Additional signs will be purchased in 2011. Authorized committee to approve within budget, 2010 street work.
SEWER/WATER - Authorized purchase of start-up chemicals for disinfection.
PARK/CEMETERY - Approved to have Louise Thada provide janitorial services for village parks. New tire swing for Willow Creek Park will be purchased at cost of $418.00. The old storage at cemetery has been removed. Request to allow a DJ for wedding in Willow Creek Park on May 15 from noon to 10 p.m. was approved.
MACHINERY - Approval made to rebuild RAM for tractor, estimated cost to be $410.00
MISCELLANEOUS - Operator license applications approved: Dale Simonson, Lucas B. Simonson, Marlo Tarr, Rachel Zindars and PaDoa Xiong. Temporary operator license application for Richard Piechowski at St. Mark's church on 6/13 and 6/14 approved. Request from 4-H group to park a trailer in library park lot for dairy sample on June 19th or June 26 was approved. Official newspaper will remain as Waushara Argus and meeting dates and time will remain at third Tuesday of each month.
