A regular meeting of the Redgranite Village Board was held March 15, 2011 at the Municipal Building. Members present: Paul Mertz, Sandra Lyles, Richard Piechowski, Betty Eannelli and Jerry Sieg. Also attending: Madonna Berube, Village Clerk- treasurer.
PUBLIC FORUM - Tom Savka inquired about ordinance violations at property next to his on Thackery Street.
REPORTS - Clerk Berube reminded all about the upcoming spring election that will be on April 5. Elmer's Place Poker Run gave a $120.00 donation in memory of Josh Fink for village park improvement. A training session is available on April 28 given by Local Government and if board members are interested should contact Clerk Berube.
FINANCE-PERSONNEL-INSURANCE - All bills listed for payment and financial reports were approved. Request for purchase of replacement computer system for Clerk's office from Badgerland Computer Systems, systems price $860.00 with option Intel Core i5 650 dual core processor adding $90.00 cost was approved. Resolution No. 2011-01 - Carry forward of Fund Balance and Redistributions in the 2010 Budget was approved.
POLICE/FIRE - report given regarding meeting held in Wautoma regarding the municipal court, of which Redgranite is a participant. Additional reports will be given as information is received.
SEWER/WATER - Proposal for laboratory services from Davy Laboratories to perform SDWA Drinking Water Analysis costing $1,983.00 was approved. Also approved purchase of 51 gallons of Azone 15 for Water Utility from Hawkins, Inc. cost being $275.45.
MUNICIPAL BUILDINGS - Annual service agreement with Entrance Technologies LLC for preventive maintenance on Municipal Building automatic door openers (front of building) at cost of $200.00 was approved.
MISCELLANEOUS - Approved the following : application submitted by Dollar General for a Combination Class A alcohol beverage license. Request submitted by Sally Corrao, Stumble Inn, to hold street dances on July 2 and September 4 in the public parking area along west side of Stumble Inn Bar and permission to serve beverages outside in this designated area. Time for both street dances are from 7 p.m. to 12 p.m. and area will be fenced, request approved. Agenda item regarding letter/resolution ( #2011-02,) of opposition to Sen. Olsen and Rep. Ballweg regarding SB27/AB40 and SB23 was amended to be only: The Village of Redgranite objects to such deep and unwarranted cuts in shared revenues, while mandating that we fund our Police and Fire budgets at 2010 levels, while limiting our tax levy to a 0% increase.
