Persons asking to speak to the Board - Victor Schrock inquired if a sign for the Knights of Columbus could be placed in two locations in the village. This request was tabled until next month when more information will be available. John Kupsky from Oshkosh asked for permission to shoot some scenes around the quarry for a movie they are making. The shooting would probably take 2 days and could be between November 6 and 16th. He will be signing a release for the village and he was also asked if a copy of the movie could be available to the village.
CLERK REPORT - Blood drive held on September 28 resulted in 10 donors and the next drive will be November 23 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Quarterly report for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds shows a balance of $37,875.31 available to qualifying landlords or property owners for rehab of homes in the village. Trick or treat will be held on October 31 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sieg reported the property located at 1004 W. Bannerman Ave. is due for inspection by the building inspector. Also recommended appointment of Sandra Lyles to the Plan Commission, which was approved.
FINANCE-PERSONNEL-INSURANCE - Approved agreement with Water Utility and Wastewater Treatment Plan Employees Local 149 for a one year a contract (2010). Some changes included 1 1/2% increase in wages, annuity and clothing allowance remain at 2009 rate, 90% of the health insurance premium will be paid by the village and two minor language items were made to the contract. Approved a collateral agreement with Farmers Exchange Bank.
SEWER/WATER - Request for replacement of tire swing at estimated cost of $386.00 was tabled for 2010 budget. Also approved removal of old storage building in cemetery after January 1, 2010, to be done by village employees. It was necessary to repair vandal damage to the donated bench in Veteran's Memorial park at cost of $240.00, and approved. The village will be seeking information for security cameras that can be placed in various areas of the village. Approved purchase of antifreeze for hydrants at cost of $476.61, replacement of door openers at WWTP by Dan's Door Service at cost of $1365.00 and aluminum sulfate from Milport Enterprises at cost of $5,243. Clerk reported testing has been done at water towers.
MISCELLANEOUS - Approved request from Stumble Inn to extend alcohol service are to fenced area outside on November 1st for Rib Cook off, until 9 p.m. Operator license applications approved are: Patricia Ridarelli, Juanita Zernia, David Nelson and Robert Zobel. Budget workshops, public hearings and special meeting to adopt budgets are: workshops on October 27 and 28th both at 6:30 p.m., publication of proposed budgets will be November 4 and the public hearing and special meeting for adoption will be on November we at 6:30 p.m.
