The monthly meeting of the Redgranite Village Board was held on February 20, 2008 at the Municipal Building.
Members present: Barry Mastricola, Richard Piechowski, Betty Eannelli, Angie Ralls and Jerry Sieg. Also attending: Village Clerk-treasurer Madonna Berube, sewer plant operator Tom Markowski and Officer Kyle Tarr.
Jeff Knutson and Eric Egelseer addressed the Board regarding renovation of building at 150 E. Bannerman Ave.
Reports: Clerk reported MSP payment received in amount of $74,242.04, siren installation reimbursement from Waushara County for $5,000, the recent Blood Drive had very limited participation due to the weather and the next Community Blood Drive will be held on March 31, 2008 from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Also Representative Joan Ballweg will hold a listening session at the Municipal Building on April 2, 2008 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
FINANCE/PERSONNEL/INSURANCE - Approved Resolution 2008-01, authorizing borrowing $25,000 from the sewer utility for a period of 24 months with interest rate at 2.75% per annum. Continuing contract for DOT required controlled substance random testing with Affinity Occupational Health was approved. Affirmed hourly wage rates for library employees: JoAnn Borchardt, $13.39; Karen Gumz- $9.02 and Barbara Dickson, $9.02. Also affirmed annuity contributions for Berube and Koch at $2,240.00 per year. Will discuss janitorial services with interested person and could possibly advertise for a replacement person.
POLICE/FIRE Action made for the following approvals: purchase of digital mobile video camera $4,140.00; purchase of discs and tapes for digital recorders, replacement of paper shredder and digital camera. Update on property at 1004 W. Bannerman Avenue - owner entered into a post plea agreement requiring deficiencies be completed by May 31, 2008 and pay outstanding fines in the amount of$1,100. Some ordinance items were referred to Ordinance and Zoning committees and update given for options at 150 E. Bannerman Ave.
SEWER AND WATER -Authorized purchase of locating equipment from Davies Water Co. at cost of $3,300. Also to purchase 4 tires at cost of $512.00 (Cooper tires) from Tom's Auto Care, cost includes mounting and disposal of old tires. Necessary parts to rebuild Marlow Pump will be purchased at cost of $$5,180 and employees Markowski and Nigbor will provide the labor.
MISCELLANEOUS - Gave permission to Redgranite Advancement Association to plant some shrubs around the Welcome sign on east side of Redgranite. Also approved operator license application for McAnn Wenzel.
