Best Fruit Pie
Bake-Off
Enter your fruit pie recipe in Redgranite's Bake-Off!
We'll have 3 judges:
Taste of Home Magazine's field editor, Darlene Alexander
Fox Valley Technical College Culinary Program's Fidel Arellano
Festival Foods Bakery Manager, Ron Pezewski
They will tell us whose Fruit Pie is the BEST EVER !
Official Rules:
- Contest is open to the Public. Amateur bakers only.
- No store bought pastry shells or fillings.
- Include one copy of the recipe to be turned into the judges. All ingredients must be listed on
the recipe.
- Recipes should be typed or printed legibly on a 5 x 8 card. Include your name, address and
phone number on the recipe card. - Please use an aluminum or disposable pie plate. No containers will be returned.
- Participants may enter as many pies as they wish, as long as they provide 2 pies and include
the recipes f
or all pies they enter. You must also complete an entry form for each pie submitted. - The pies will be sold whole and by the slice, with all proceeds to benefit the Redgranite
Advancement Association which funds projects such as community and park improvements,
Scholarships for are youth, and the annual Labor Day Festival to name a few. - Pies will be accepted at the Downtown Park from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Judging will begin at 2:30
p.m.
by a panel of judges. Pies will be judged on Appearance (Sliced, juiciness, firmness) Taste
(strength of flavor, sweet and/or tartness), Consistency (thick, thin, mushy, runny, dry) and Crust (flavor/texture). - To enter, please send your entry form and registration fee ($5.00) Make checks payable to:
Redgranite Advancement Association
and send to: Susie Gustke, W4863 Happersett Lane, Redgranite, WI 54970 - Entry forms must be received by August 15, 2008.
PRIZES: 1st Place $50 2nd Place $30 3rd Place $20.
- All winners will be announced at 4:00 p.m. at the Downtown Park and will be featured in our parade on Monday, Sept. 1, 2008.
- Pies will be judged by three famous culinary judges.
Raffles
Button Raffle Information
- Buttons are sold at Redgranite area businesses and are numbered.
- Daily drawings are held and lucky button number winners are posted at the Downtown Park.
- Winners must claim their prize by 4 pm on Monday, September 1, 2008.
Breast Cancer Fundraiser Raffle
- Win stuff !
- Tickets are sold at Downtown Park during the day on Saturday.
- Funds raised will go to breast cancer foundation.
- Drawing is Saturday afternoon at 3 pm.
- Must be present to win.
KidzRok - Kid's Day AWESOME Raffle!
- Tickets will be sold Saturday during KidzRok event in Willow Creek Park.
- 5 for $1
- Kids might win many neat items.

Bring your lawn chairs to Willow Creek Park and sit a while. At 6 pm (or so) we'll have a tent, refreshments, and food -- and lots of space in the grass outside!
Please -- Children must be accompanied by their parents since alcohol is served in the tent.
