A meeting of the Economic Development Committee was held at the Municipal Building on November 6, 2007. Members attending: Jack Lungwitz, Sally Leavitt, Veronica Davidson and Betty Eannelli. Also present: Clyde Simonson, Redgranite Elementary School principal.
Mr. Simonson wanted to thank the committee for the donation toward the billboard sign on Highway 21 - "REDGRANITE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, SCHOOL OF PROMISE AWARD FOR 2007". This is the fourth consecutive year the school has received this award. The Redgranite school is one of 64 elementary schools to win and one of 14 schools in the State of Wisconsin to win 4 times.
Jack Lungwitz will try to do follow up on our attempt to get a place on Highway 21near the Pack Rat Storage facility to erect a Welcome to Redgranite sign.
Veronica Davidson reported on the upcoming Christmas decorating contest. All residences and businesses are encouraged to decorate for Christmas. There will be information about this contest in both the Berlin Journal and Waushara Argus papers. She will be getting persons to judge the displays and this will be done on DECEMBER 13, 2007. Other decorating ideas were discussed and suggested some street banners be purchased that would make it possible to have a couple of changes during the year. Veronica will try to get some quotes for cost of banners.
Area residents interested in promoting the village are urged to attend.
